There are many places closeby. Next door is italian restaurant “Capri” with very good food, next to the pharmacy is Greek food “ The Greek grill”, there is a lovely bakery at the end of the road (3 min walk) or even Indian restaurant (Spice of Bengal). There are some fast food places too, 3 min walk to the left (looking at the house) such as chicken place “Hennie Penny’s chicken”, pizza “Pizza Carino” or Chinese “Sage”. Local pub is “Saville arms” (4 min walk) with pool table, dart board and often some themed nights or live music, filled with locals. Some common places for a night out are “Airedale Heifer”, “Navigation Tavern”, “The railway” with live music, DJs, festivals etc. PS. There is also an amazing spa just across the road to extra pamper yourself during your holiday, you know you deserve it!
Train station is 20-25 min walk from the house, following just one street down/up, or by taxi (Station cars taxi) 5 min. It has direct lines to any major city/town, such as Leeds, Huddersfield, York, Manchester as well as London or even seaside such as Hull. There is Park and Ride available at the station. Bus stop is on the same side of the road or across, less than 1 min walk with lines to Leeds, Huddersfield etc. It is 15 min from the junction 25, M62 or 20 min from M1. Our little town has convenient access to public transport with direct train lines to all the major cities around such as Leeds, Huddersfield, York as well as direct lines to the coast or even London and Manchester. The bus stop is next to the house, less than 1 min walk to take you shopping or visiting nearby zoo, parks and reservoirs. Don’t forget short car rides to some amazing Museum such as National Coal Mining Museum, National Science and Media Museum, as well as some historical locations such as Oakwell Hall or Sandel Castle. Only 13 min from two major motorways M62 and M1 you can reach both Peak District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park in less than 45 min.
